Glad to hear that you're still following through with the journey. Just like you said in the post you never know what might change but I'm glad you guys are still doing it. All the best and enjoy the journey...you're together, that's all that matters.

The single hardest part of my trip was being apart from Christina for the two years. There were occasions where physically I was on the boat, but many times, in many really amazing places, I was mentally back in Seattle. I would do the trip again in a heartbeat, but instead of with two other guys, it would be with her. This may seem like an incredible setback, but it may end up allowing you to align where you are with where you want to be better than I was able to. With both of you on the boat, you will be home no matter where you sail to.

Congrats on the marriage! I'm a big, big fan of "happily ever after" as it pertains to relationships.

I'm sad to hear that things are changing so dramatically over at Syzygy, but I'm glad to hear that you and Karen are going to keep going. If you guys need to borrow any books or tools back, or Karen wants to borrow my copy of "The Cruising Woman's Companion", come on over. =)

Wow. What a post. I initially was introduced to this site through Johnny's site, Zero Per Gallon, and since I live in the area and love sailing I found the project to be admirable and quite interesting.

It seems that life had other plans for you guys. At the twilight of your bachelor days, it intervened and "flipped the script." Well, I guess that happens. I suppose you could be disheartened on seeing a plan fall apart, but there's no sense in getting depressed. You've got an awesome boat, it sounds like your friendships are still in tact, and hey -- you're married to a beautiful woman, your buddy is gonna have a baby, and your other buddy is like the Donald Trump of the bike world. Well hell, that's not half bad for any of you!

Keep up the good work, and don't panic. Things usually work out for the best in the end.
