I worked for your Grandfather Joe when I was in grade/high school. The first day your dad (David, I think he is your dad), but I was on the bus for Cathryn and Georges first day as well. Have sailed from the Gulf of Maine, Bahamas, and S.W. Florida back in the 1990's, logged about 9,000 miles, not much compared to your plan. Had a Beneteau 40cc and most of the sailing was single handed. I am sure you have read Joshua Slocum's Sailing Alonge around the World. He left Fairhaven, Mass. 1895. Great read !
